Continuing our coverage of NetSuite’s 2025 Release 1, we take a deep dive into 10 new 2025.1 Release’s features that ERP users won’t want to miss.
Designed to boost efficiency, reduce manual work, support your staff and better serve your customers, these new functionalities will help your business operate more smoothly than ever:
- Compliance 360 SuiteApp. This solution provides a clear, reliable view of all customer records and helps you track and audit user interactions to customer records within NetSuite; create new audits, view and edit existing audits; and track audit progresses according to your organization's needs and policies. One of the new Compliance 360 features in this release is a reusable audit template that can be used for recurring audits, making it easier to consistently document and track audits.
- New mobile capabilities. Everyone wants to be able to work “untethered” and NetSuite supports this by offering up supply chain management mobile and manufacturing mobile, both of which help users get more done from their mobile devices. Managers and supervisors can easily oversee the flow of goods from suppliers through manufacturers and into their customers' hands. NetSuite’s first 2025 release includes the ability to download labels and reports to handheld devices, kiosks or printers offline. This increases printing flexibility and access. There are also new user-defined buttons that allow users to configure their interfaces and either create or “clone” from existing data tables.
- Fixed asset enhancements. Some of the fixed asset enhancements in the new NetSuite release include a redesigned System Setup page that integrates seamlessly with the Redwood experience; a new Redwood experience for Benchmark 360 dashboard; and an updated employee turnover rate calculation that factors in terminated employees with either active or inactive status when retrieving “employees who left the company” criterion.
- More streamlined order fulfillment and shipping processes. ShipCentral is a NetSuite-built application that simplifies order fulfilment procedures as part of the broader NetSuite WMS (warehouse management system). ShipCentral streamlines the shipping process and speeds up the end-to-end order fulfillment process. NetSuite has now added more functionality to ShipCentral, including the ability to apply flat, discounted or markup rates to real-time shipping costs. Users can now also shop for rates directly from the order transaction, capture pallet weights and set carrier-specific shipping label data.
- Accounting all in one place. Using the SuiteTax configurable tax engine, finance teams can generate detailed reports and analyze transactions right down to line-item tax details in real-time. The solution simplifies global tax compliance, saving time, reducing costs and eliminating manual calculations. The ERP’s built-in tax logic automates determinations of taxability and calculations on every transaction—right down to the individual item level.
- AI-empowered finance and accounting teams. NetSuite Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) for planning, budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliation, financial close and company-wide reporting now comes with a new feature that’s powered by AI. This enhancement leverages data science, machine learning, and generative AI to automatically generate narratives and explanations from financial and operational data. The result is more meaningful, insightful and actionable reports. The automated report drafting helps improve report accuracy, consistency and efficiency. It also elevates automated storytelling, enabling reports to clearly convey insights in a narrative format.
- Bank feeds that link bank and credit card accounts to NetSuite to seamlessly import banking data. In this 2025.1 update, NetSuite partnered with a new, third-party financial aggregator to provide wider coverage of supported financial institutions in the U.S. and Canada. This will allow connections to 14,000 financial institutions and over 700 open banking connections. Existing users with previously unsupported financial institutions will be able to confirm if their connections are available, while those that experienced connection challenges can count on a better, more streamlined experience.
- New SuiteProcurement app. This new SuiteApp brings indirect procurement into NetSuite, creating an efficient, cost-effective and transparent process for purchasing indirect goods and services. It lets users shop directly from a supplier's online store. Here’s how it works: Once buyers check out, procurement will automatically create a purchase request and initiate routing through the approvals process. Once the request is approved, the order is then transmitted to the supplying vendor. This tool also features automated electronic vendor bill receipt and posting for maximum efficiency and accuracy. With SuiteProcurement, users can access volume discounts on goods and services by centralizing purchasing power with a select set of vendors. This helps companies increase their savings while also reducing overhead costs.
- New Customer 360 features, charts and metrics. Customer 360 provides a complete, 360- degree view of the customer, including their financial information, transaction history and other related data. Its newest features include charts and metrics that help users get up to speed on a customer’s status, relationship history, and recent transactions and activities. The overview tab now includes more transaction and record types (in recent activity), an updated customer lifetime value section and quick links to reports like top selling items. And, a dynamic headline keeps users informed of to-date sales.
- A scheduling tool made for production managers. This NetSuite update comes with a new manufacturing scheduler tailored for production managers and schedulers that want to optimize and streamline production. Designed for work order management, this SuiteApp helps users allocate operations efficiently across multiple work centers while factoring in constraints. It factors in the operation’s duration dependency sequences and the work center’s unique working calendar. Through its clear and actionable drag-and-drop operating interface, manufacturing scheduler helps enhance productivity, reduce downtime and maintain optimal operational flow on the shop floor.
These are just some of the exciting new features and functions that you’ll find in the first NetSuite update of 2025. The software developer has also enhanced the rebate and trade promotions SuiteApp, updated the field service management tool and made various other improvements that will help your company work smarter, better and faster this year.
