NEED-TO-KNOW NETSUITE 2022.2 UPDATE #1: IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING.
In case you didn't know, change is already on its way. Customer accounts are already being migrated to NetSuite 2022.2, with final upgrades due in October. For an update on your upgrade schedule, just check your New Release Portlet (NRP). Also don't forget to take advantage of your free 2022.2 Release Preview account, that lets you test the upgrade process and new feature previews before you pass the point of no return and formally upgrade.
NEED-TO-KNOW NETSUITE 2022.2 UPDATE #2: THINGS CAN (AND DO) CHANGE.
NetSuite's 2022.2 Release Notes make clear that they can be subject to change on a weekly basis and this isn't something to take lightly. Sure, the majority of the time there are only very minor changes, but big seismic changes have been known, with key features kicked out along the way. So naturally it's always good to keep a beady eye-out for release-cycle updates each week and how any changes might affect your original test plan.
NEED-TO-KNOW NETSUITE 2022.2 UPDATE #3: DELAY STILL MIGHT BE DOABLE.
If you find yourself in the predicament of not having been able to test properly before the scheduled release, don't despair – it may be possible to delay the release to a later date. It's not widely publicized but could be a lifesaver if you're not quite as prepared as you should be. As you might expect, the caveats are that this delay option only helps if you were initially scheduled for Phase 1 or Phase 2, and obviously only works if you make the request much sooner rather than later. Procrastinators beware.
NEED-TO-KNOW NETSUITE 2022.2 UPDATE #4: MORE UPDATES TO FOLLOW.
If you thought you could update just a couple of times a year and have done with it, think again. Yes the two major ones per annum are the big boys, but NetSuite is in the habit of making changes to their platform throughout the year through periodic e-Fix Releases (usually twice a month and usually on Thursdays, by the way). These are essentially non- urgent issues reported by customers but that should ideally be fixed before the next major bi-annual upgrade.
NEED-TO-KNOW NETSUITE 2022.2 UPDATE #5: LOOK BACK.
If you've ever been curious as to whether you can get release notes of older releases – then you're in luck, because you can. It's a great way to see when a particular update was introduced. Just use https://system.netsuite.com/app/help/helpcenter.nl? fid=ReleaseNotes_<YYYY>.<number>.0.pdf. Replace <YYYY> with the target year, and <number> with 1 or 2. Currently you can view previous release notes up to the 2013.2 release.
